06/16 - Started early out of Lynnhaven in search of cobia and reds. After toying with rays and moving from the 9ft shoals to Latimer and then back to the bridge, we finally picked up a nice 46" red. The wind picked up and we decided to head for the barn instead fishing the evening bite.

06/17 - My brother-in-law's dad came to town with his Scout and after big father's day lunch, we hit the water. In my 38 years, I don't think I have ever seen that much boat traffic. Started off looking for black drum around the first but ended up with a nice 23" flounder. We filled the livewell with croaker's and headed to the other side of the bay. Within 10-minutes of setting the anchor, we had our first cobia of the season on. It was only 48" long but extremely healthy. See photos at http://owney.smugmug.com/gallery/3024954#164375500

06/18 - I headed to work while Mac and dad were setting up once again. They missed the fish of the day when one blistered a 330 before popping the 65# braid. Made for a good story but 2 very sick fishermen.

06/19 - Nothing but sharks and rays.

Smoking reels,
