Today we had a private charter for Mr. Tom Mooney, owner of Murphy's Irish Pub & Restaurant on 30th Steet in VA Beach. He brought 6 of his managers and staff to do some deep sea wreck fishing and hopefully catch some tasty Black Sea Bass.
The weather conditions were excellent with relatively calm seas and winds (a wlcome change). The fishing was slow today, as we struggled to catch 35 keeper Black Sea Bass ranging from 2 - 5 pounds. Extremely cold water, combined with a frenzied wreck take over barrage by the Dog Sharks and Conger Eels made the Black Sea Bass catching tough. If I can figure out how to post pictures, I'll post them here. Maybe the webmaster can post them for me.
We also caught a 4 pound Tile Fish and a couple of small Sharks which had a light red/brownish chain link pattern on them (not sure what they were). We caught 1 VA weight Citation today of exactly 5 pounds as weighed at Long Bay Pointe Tackle.
