i was told that someone caught a 108pd. red drum at the 4th an they saw the picture.my ques. is do they get that big or maybe it was a black drum food-smiley-004.gif

yes they do but very very rare. Mst likely a black but even then may be a fish story. Either way congrats to the angler that ceryainly caught a big fish for him.

State record red is 85 lbs (can't be broken). I think that a 108 lb red drum would be a world record. State record black is 111 lbs. There is no way to weigh a red unless you had a BIG handscale and the black would make news pretty quick as it is almost broke the record. My guess is a big black drum too.

Also big reds wouldnt be hanging at the islands, but that is exactly where you would find big blacks this time of year.

I think this may just be.... well... a fish story.
