Left Rudee at 4:30 to the tip of the canyon with keith (shortcomings), conner (cmac), my cousin darren, and a friend, ryan, with no wind and flat calm seas. Got to the canyon and cold water (69.5 degrees). Trolled to the south wall and a little warmer with 71.5 degree water. A buddy of mine on another boat had missed 7 big yellowfin by 8am, but called me to where he was, east of the canyon where we finally picked up our 1st fish, a nice 65lb yft, the first big yft caught by keith. He did a great job on it. Then the fish went down and fishing really slowed for everybody. We had a few other knock downs, but nothing came tight. Had to make a decision and decided to go to shallow water towards the fingers. Good move, since once we hit about 30 fathoms, a white marlin decided to pile onto my flat line. After a beautiful fight, and caught by my cousin darren, got him to the boat for a release. As we picked up to come in, the temp changed quite a bit with 78 degree water, bait, sharks, dolphin, and tuna reports just east of the fingers, we should have stayed there all day. Two other whites were caught near there as well. So go there if anybody is fishing in the next day or two. The other hot spot was around the 330 line, one boat got 10yft and a blue marlin. Great job in the pit goes to conner and to all the other guys for an awesome day offshore, the weather was unbelievable.
