What hook size is best for catching flounder?

i use #2 wide-mouth eagle,laser

I use a 4-0 wide gap now that the min is 18.5. A 18.5 flounder has a big mouth. I have lost a few big ones with smaller hooks.

remember big baits = big fish for flounder

#3/0 or #4/0 kahle hook.....

Carolinasman is on the money for hook type and size; unless you are live baiting for flounder. Then it is another story altogether.

what size hook do you use for live bait.
I use the same size/style

for live baiting use a 5/0 or 6/0 wide gap live bait hook by mustad. but not a circle
