Hello All,
I'm fishing in the Potomac for flounder and was wondering what your thoughts are.....the legal size is 15 in and the average good size is 18-20in. I'm new to trying for Flat Fish usually use the standard rig baited with about 5in squid strip and minnow, do you guys/girls think if I try using small live spot or just bigger bait I'll catch a bigger grade or are they just NOT up this far?? Any advice appreciated.
Thanks Berk

i am no expert, but folks i fished with who are say big bait = big fish. I am amazed at the fact that even the smaller ones will take a large bait! so IMHO ... go for it, it certainly will not hurt!

A five to six inch spot or croaker fished live will outfish just about anything else you put down for flounder. Just hook them up thru the lower jaw and drift or slow (power) troll.
