Fished Miss Caroline out to Norfolk Canyon on Friday. Was greeted with pretty rough seas about 30 miles out but pressed on. We set down in about 50 fathoms just short of south wall. Had a quick dolphin bite - gaffer in box 20 minutes later nice bite and then tuna 55lbs in box. Couldnt troll like we wanted to because of the rough conditions so we headed east and decided to pull out the teasers. Dropped squid chain on right teaser and less than 1 minute of putting it out whitey came to visit. We missed him on right flat then he hit the left short as he was over there I told my buddy on the bridge with me to grab the short shotgun rig - he picked the tuna rigged 50 up and about 20 seconds later there was whitey eating it up. He gave him a quick dropback and HOOKED UP Whitey. Released him and trolled on and on and on.
Fleet down below at 350 line having a good catch inshore along 35 fathoms or so - we trolled down the line and had three good bites but rubber hooks. Hooked up a nice buff YFT at 402 line and had a gaff issue in the pit and pulled him off @%**&&>>>.. Then found tremendous bait around the 320 and trolled it hard. We used every trick we knew of - danglers, planer, bars, jigging everything but couldnt get a bite - trolled inshore a little and finally got a bite on the rasta bar in 29 fathoms - and yep you guessed it - pulled off.

All in all nice day and first white on new boat.
Good action most of the day.
Final count:
1 for 6 on YFT
1 for 1 on Whites
1 gaffer

Will be fishing next Saturday.
