We'll we departed Owl's Creek @ 415 with Bruce, Ed and Brian on board with a plan to head SE of the Fingers. As soon as we get out of the inlet the boat won't go over 13 kts so we pop the hatch and commence to tweaking with the carb. Well its 630 before we know it so I said lets just going buoy hopping for cobia with our one spinning rod on board:)) . We'll we see a monster barracuda, 3 dink cobes and a cobe about 4 ft. while we we're out there, after repeated casts the bigger one wanted no part. By this time the boat seemed to be running better so we said let's try the Hot Dog to see if there's any Kings or BFT's out there, pods and pods of bait along the way out there also. We trolled for an hour with no bites and the boat was running great so I said let's head east. We finally drop lines in @ 1230 at the 370 line in 20 fa and 5 min. later we got a nice gaffer in the boat. I saw a lobster pot not too far away so we trolled over and picked up some bailers and a 56" Mako. We trolled back in across the fingers with a stray chicken here and there before getting lines in @ 330. Started out bad but we salvaged it!
