After only 3 hours of sleep in my Virginia Beach hotel room last night, I dragged my butt down to the wharf at Long Bay Pointe Bait & Tackle to take a scheduled 8 eager anglers out to do some Atlantic Ocean deep sea wreck fishing. When I arrived, for some reason, only 2 anglers showed up to go. I did not want to disappoint the 2 that did show up, so we went anyway. Even though I did not make any money today, I got to take 2 guys out and show them the beauty and bounty of the Atlantic Ocean. Hey, it's better than sitting at the wharf, what the heck. Besides, I wanted to go fishing in a HUGE way and it was a beautiful morning!
These 2 guys were a trip! I'm glad we went anyway. They were so funny and we had a blast catching 49 Black Sea Bass on the day (1 short of their limit). A beautiful day on the Atlantic Ocean with some nice guys was well worth it.
We weeded through the Dog Sharks and Conger Eels and had a good catch for only 2 anglers. I'm sure the fellas had major sore arms when they got home! I'll send the pictures to Tony, the webmaster and have him post them here asap.
Both anglers earned VA release and weight Citations.

We are going on Saturday, 2/26/05, but it is a private charter for the Virginia Beach Anglers Club. If you are a member of that Club, they have a sign up sheet going at the Fire House/Clubhouse. I think 10 are signed up so far.
We are going on Sunday 2/27/05, as well, but that day is also a private charter for the Great Bridge Fishermen's Association. If you are a member of that Association - Mr. Stu Baldwin has the sign up sheet, so you should see him.
If you are just a single looking on to jump on with other singles, we have an open boat going Friday, 2/25, departing the wharf at Long Bay Pointe Tackle at 0200. You can get on the reservation list by calling the Tackle Shop anytime before then.
