Full Version: Jil Carrie Sea Bass Report
Virginia Beach Sport Fishing > VBSF.net Sport Fishing Forums > Offshore, Gulf Stream & Canyons (Ocean City MD to Hatteras NC)
Capt. Jim Brincefield
Today was a private charter for the Virginia Beach Sport Fishing Forum and web site organized by Dr. Najed Jafri. We headed on out from the wharf at Long Bay Pointe Tackle in Lynnhaven, Virginia Beach to the offshore wrecks to try some deep sea fishing in the Atlantic Ocean.

It was a bit choppy and we had a few visits from "Ralph", "Earl", and "The Car Salesmen". The fish were biting though, especially the Dog Sharks and the Conger Eels. We struggled to catch 45 Black Sea Bass on the day despite the additional chumming!

someone put some "handles" with the faces, sounded like a, *burp*, fun time.

Some "handles"
--I'm the guy in the last pic with the "doubleheader". 2 pics above in the red jacket with the fat seabass is Greg "albemarle 24", who spent the least time fishing but caught some of the most impressive fish.

In the group pic, the guy between me and the mate (who's wearing the white bib) is DJ (Darrell) who I believe caught the most fish. I forgot the other guys names, but I don't think they're on the forum (sorry if I screwed up).

It was a fun time--a little rough--but still a blast.
Capt. Jim Brincefield
Yeah, but NJ1 - tell the TRUTH about the story of why you "HAD" to bring some fresh Black Sea Bass home with you!
NJ1
Capt. Jim--it goes back to the days of the caveman-- me hunts and brings home the "bacon" and in return gets a little.......well you all know how that's supposed to end.

LOL. Craig, the worst is the infamous "double skunk"--but I must say, with 3 kids, and the fourth on the way in June, the "fishing"'s been good on occassion at least tongue.gif

By the way, thanks for putting that site info for the wrecks up--it looks great.

Cool Breeze - he's not even telling half of the story. Ask him about his frustration of about 12 DAWG Sharks and Conger Eels in a row (not to mention "Ralph")! When he finally started catching big Black Sea Bass, that was PRICELESS! I wish I had been taping with sound and video!

C'mon Dr., out with the WHOLE story.

You guys are a riot. Hope I can make the next trip.

The smell of skunk or even the smell of fish--I can't seem to get away from a bad day at the office blink.gif ...For those who might think it's a glamour job--think again.

Capt. Jim's right--after about 20 dog sharks and a nasty-a__ conger eel before even a single sea bass, I was pretty darn excited to finally catch one. If I had come home empty-handed after a trip like that, I would've gotten sh-- from my brothers, cousins, etc., not to mention the above noted issues with the wife.

Mega, the last time I thought of skunk while removing something from someone's body had to do with a tampon that had "gotten lost" for about 3 weeks.....I would rather have gotten sprayed by a skunk ohmy.gif (sorry if I turned any stomachs...)
