I was thinking about running out of Rudee this weekend and I havent been down there in a while. I know a while back the inlet was pretty hairy and was wondering if they had dredged it all out. Does anyone have an update on the condition of the inlet? Im really not trying to take 5 foot breaking waves over the bow (did that in december and it was fun enough then).

Anthony at 17th St Tackle said a pal of his ran into two bee-hives of gannets one mile south of Rudee. He said this boat limited out on big boys quick, as well as started releasing. Also beaucoup menhaden. This would seem to suggest inlet passable now. This report from Wednesday. Working this weekend,so cannot investigate personally.

Any word from today. We are going tomorrow and enjoy a nice boat ride with a shot at some fish.

I ran out of Rudee Inlet rockfishing on the last weekend of Jan. It was still pretty hairy. The dredge pipes were laying on the South side of the inlet at that time.

Its fine now 14 to 16 feet deep at the mouth all the way across,no more barrels breaking across the entire inlet mouth anymore.Job done well by the dredge co.
