I don't know what forum to but this in,but here goes.I have a 8 year old son who is hearing impaired. Last week he had an educational evaluation in which they felt the current classroom setting that he was in here in Roanoke may not be meeting his needs. The evaluator mentioned several other areas in the state that would be better, one of them being Virginia Beach schools. I believe the school that the hearing impaired program is at Corporate Landing. Does anyone know anything about this school or this program. In case we decide to look at moving in the area, what is a good middle class area to look at living in. We also have another child that will be in middle school. Thanks for any information!!

Sandflea,

I live in a part of Virginia Beach that the Navy has designated one of the Accident Potential Zone 1 (APZ1) areas surrounding NAS Oceana. Because of all the ka-ka about the BRAC and Oceana, the home costs remain lower in our neighborhoods than in other parts of the city. If you can put up with the noise (it can be a royal Pain in the A$$ sometimes), you can get a very nice home at a very reasonable price in a nice neighborhood.

I'm one of the APZ1 BRAC-aholics who is serving on the City of Virginia Beach's Oceana Land Use Conformity Committee as one of the APZ1 homeowners, and I can tell you that our homes are not going anywhere. If you live in our area, you are not far from Corporate Landing on a very nice, new road.
