Went out to the tower yesterday, after circling for about an hour and a half, finally saw some spades in the fish haven SW of the tower.
The spades, some nice sized, were close all day but didn't seem very interested in clams or squid... no takers.
Dropped a few lines to the bottom and managed to pull up a few small black bass, and one tipping the scale at 2lbs-9oz. Made for some good fish sandwhiches!

So are spades out at the tower done for the season? I've heard they can't resist jelly fish, but there aren't any around for us to grab on the way out. Any other ideas? (Besides spear fishing or dynamite!)

I guess the next time out, I'll head for the 4th island.

Theres been some citations caught at the fourth lately so I'd try there and around the pilons before running to the tower. Try the pilons to. Sheepshead are going strong as well as Spade. Don't forget to bring an eel for the Cobia because chances are your going to see a few.
