Has/Does anyone fish for sharks close to shore around the inlets? Has anyone had any luck? If so can you post so we can check it out? Maybe some ideas of where to look?
THanKs!

There have been several threads on shark fishing, including the kayak fishermen. Here's a quick site tip: At the top of this page, on the left, click on "All Forums". Then on the right side of the page, just above the forums list, is a search field. type in sharks and it will bring up all posts with shark in them. Usually you will find the info you're looking for, or an existing thread you can add to. Then we're not rehashing the same info every week. Hope this helps.

Always glad to help. You'll find quite a few folks targeting sharks for some catch and release action. Good luck!

Im not sure but their might be rules against chumming near the beach during the summer. Does anyone know anything about this? I know you are not allowed to shark fish off the piers.
VB does not allow frisbe throwing, so Im sure they will not dig chumming up sharks to thousands of paying tourist.

not sure about up here but down on the outer banks (oregon inlet and hatteras) ive heard of people using kayacks to take out heads of tunas for bait. last xmas another fishing site showed picks of a guy who caught several BIG sharks from the beach. it was xmas day, he was standing in the water with shorts and a santa hat on pulling this 7-8 ft shark (dont remember what type) back into the water. they also showed pics of shark fins on the beach side of the waves. pretty @#$@# scary if you ask me.

Try chumming the disposal area a just E of Rudee. I had pretty good luck there a couple of weeks ago. Sharks were coming into the chum line within 30 minutes, biggest was a sand thresher around 6'. Had a big cobia swim through but he wouldn't take the bait.
Good luck.

Where is the disposal area in relation to the inlet? Is it offshore a good ways or is it right out of the rudee inlet?
