Rob's Baja inspired pickle free tartar type sauce

Recommended Posts

1/2 cup reduced fat sour cream

1/2 cup Real Mayo

1 lime, cut in half

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1/2 teaspoon ground coriander

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1 Jalapeno diced

1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

1/4 teaspoon coarse ground pepper

Coarse sea salt if desired

1. In a small bowl, whisk the sour cream and mayonnaise until well blended.

2. Squeeze the juice from one lime half into the sauce mixture, then whisk thoroughly. If it seems too thin add more sour cream.

3. Add all of the spices, whisking to mix thoroughly. Add minced pepper and cilantro, and whisk thoroughly.

4. Cover the bowl with wrap and refrigerate at least a half hour — the longer the better. I like to let it sit over night.

5. Serve chilled. Spoon sauce over fish tacos, on fish sandwich or add into fish and shrimp taco salads.

great on fish tacos or fish sandwich especially when meat is grilled. I use this with bluefish, flounder and other fish that typically lack flavor.

If you use it on a sandwich I like to throw some slices of avocado on there too.
