VBSF.net | Fishing Reports From Virginia Beach VA To Hatteras NC

Last night at Bonefish Grill they had tilefish on the menu.? Since I have a bay boat I'm not going to be out there catching any and gave it a try.? Not a bad fish, but it doesn't rank up there with stiper.? It was white but a little chewy.?

My take:? I'd eat it if I caught it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to catch it

? ? ? ? ? ? ?? for dinner.

trust me tilefish is waaaaaay better than any striper. that chef stunk up your fish or it was not fresh. go with the parmesan breadcrumb encrusted chops at bonefish next time

grouper

seabass/wahoo

trigger

tog/tile

Wahoo then mahi then tuna.

I agree with scallywag. With a small caveat that third place is Yellowfin and tied with it is Grouper.

I like to cook my fish on the grill using an aluminum foil pan with an edge so it can hold in sauce.I usually use tamaraui sauce with mushrooms and purple onions.Sometimes I like Italian Dressing .I rarely fry fish anymore it smells up the house and clogs up the ticker.Blackening is really my favorite way but its so spicey my kids tend to suffer through it.

is that the same as soy sauce MB? that rosie is good - consistency of tog but tastes a little more like seabass.

I voted for Mahi but I'm surprised Bluefin and Albacore are not higher. Truthfully, I don't think I'd pass any of them up!
