  1. We had a Dad to get his boys out fishing with Key Dreams this morning. It was an overcast morning that finally gave way to sunny skies with light South winds. We starting with the Spadefish and the bite was picky and the hookups came slower than usual but they still got their limit of Spadefish for the Cooler. We spent the remaining time of the morning focused on Flounder but they weren’t snapping. We did see a couple of Cobia swimming together but they didn’t eat the eel today. We also caught the normal other stuff like Oyster Toads, Croakers and such and got back to the dock before it Hot and avoided the Afternoon Showers and T-Storms. Lots of Fun.
  2. Today we had a Group of friends get out fishing with us for some Spadefish and Flounder Fishing. It was beautiful today with light winds keeping it calm on the bay today. We started with those Crazy Fighting Spadefish. It didn’t take long and they were in the groove and we caught our 8 person Boat Limit. We shifted over to Flounder Fishing and got a half dozen flounder up to 19 inches with 3 of them keepers. We also caught Bluefish and a keeper Black Seabass. We also got the Cobia Surprise and some reel screaming action. We also caught the normal variety of the other stuff like Oyster toads, small Sea bass.
  3. We had a family outing for Mom and Dad to get the girls out fishing with Key Dreams this morning. It was a beautiful day with light winds, super calm and Glassy in some areas. We started looking for Flounder and got some Flounder action but they were coming up short. As we were heading to another hot spot we saw a couple small Cobia while cruising. After doing some more Flounder fishing we decided to take a detour and play with the Cobias on the way to the next spot. The first Cobia we saw look like it may be big enough so we flipped eels on it 3 times with no response, we were about to try a fourth time and a center console cruised up and flipped their eel at it and again they had no luck with it either. We moved on and saw a few more small ones that wouldn’t eat. We were almost back to our next fishing hot spot and we found about 20 Cobia’s packed up. There was one that looked big enough to keep in the middle of the pack. Surprisingly it took a few tries to get her hooked. It was kind a crazy watching the small cobia grab the eel by the tail and drag it away from the pack and just drop it never having the hook in its mouth and swimming back to the pack. The 3rd or 4th attempt landed rite on top of the biggest one in the middle of the pack and she sucked it up with-out hesitation. The pack tightly followed the big one we had hooked and it was crazy fun trying to get another one hooked up while they all followed in plain view but they kept either ignoring the eel or dragging it away, like Spawning bass clearing their bed. One finally pulled the eel off so I quickly grabbed a live bait and got one to hit but he missed the hook. Started to get nervous about losing the one we had on the hook so we netted it and they left. Since we did hook the biggest one in the group of about 20 of them and it was only 41 inches I’m pretty sure we got the only keeper out of that bunch. It was fun playing with them be we decided to get back to Flounder Fishing and got a nice eating size Bluefish and a Triggerfish. Then we finished up by going after those Crazy Fighting Spadefish and ended up catching our Boat limit of Spadefish. We also caught the normal other stuff like little Seabass, Oyster Toads and another baby Sea Donkey. Oh yea the Bonus Prize we saw floating on our way south and the Kids were excited about the rare catch (see pic). Lots of Fun.
  4. Today we had a Father get his sons out fishing with us for some Spadefish and Flounder Fishing. We caught some Flounder up to 19 inches and their limit of Spadefish. While Flounder fishing the younger son had a heavy one on and finally got it up and to our surprise it was a Rockfish (see picture). The older son had a nice one on fighting like a big doormat Flounder but when it got near the boat it went crazy and ran straight under the boat screaming line and got cut off by the running gear under the boat, never got a chance to see it so the Sea Monster got away this time. It was beautiful today with light winds keeping it calm on the bay today. We also caught the normal variety of the other stuff like Bluefish, Oyster toads, small Sea bass and even a surprise little Sea Donkey (Amberjack).
  5. We had a Group of Business Associates here for meeting get out fishing with Key Dreams this morning. It was a beautiful day but the South West winds were a bit stronger then we like but still fishable. We started with the Flounder again this morning which resulted in throwback flounder and toads. We picked the pace up with the Spadefish. These guys quickly got the hang of the bite and got their boat limit of 28 Spadefish for the Cooler and Catch and Released 4. Lots of Fun.
  6. We had a family group outing today getting the kids out fishing for a morning trip. It was a cloudy morning with light SW winds and flat calm on the bay most of the morning. Showers and storms were hanging south of us, but we got lucky and only got a sprinkling at the end of the trip. We fished for Flounder for a short period of time and the youngest had the most action catching some jumbo oyster toads. The Flounder were being stubborn so it wasn’t long before we ended up fishing for the Spadefish. We messed around with the Spadefish and ended up putting Limit of Spadefish in the box. Lots of Fun.
  7. We had a ½ day Family Fun Fishing trip this morning where these kids got dad out fishing on KeyDreams. It was a beautiful morning on the Chesapeake Bay but a little bumpy at times. The Flounder bight was slow today, but we did managed to get 4 Flounder with 2 nice keeper Flounder ranging up to 19 inches and then we worked over the Spadefish who were also being finicky this morning. We fed a bunch and managed 3 Spadefish for the table as well. It was a Fun and Beautiful day on the Chesapeake Bay today with good folks.
  8. We had a group of Family and Friends get together with us today on KeyDreams for a ½ day of Flounder and Spade fishing. It was a beautiful day with calm seas and light SW winds. We started messing with the Spadefish and we had better than a dozen in the box when they wanted to try for some Flounder. We shifted gears and caught some Flounder up to 19 inches but after about 45 minutes they realized they had caught the Spadefish Bug and wanted to mess with those Wild and Crazy Spadefish again. We went back to catching Spadefish and they caught their Limit of Spadefish and we were back to the dock around Noon. These guys seemed to just love getting out on the water and enjoying a day off and having a good time together. They had plenty of fresh fillets to share with Friends and Family waiting at home for Dinner tonight. Lots of Fun.
  9. We had a half day Family Fun Fishing trip today where were 3 generations got out fishing with the kids on KeyDreams on this beautiful morning on the Chesapeake Bay. We targeted the Spadefish today and we ended up with 21 of them in the box. The boys caught 20 of them and the young lady came out for a few minutes showed the boys how to catch them and went back to hanging out in the cabin. We were trying for the Boat Limit but the bight was a bit finicky. It was a Fun and Beautiful day on the Chesapeake Bay today.
  10. We had a Family Fun Fishing trip this morning were this lovely wife wanted to treat her husband to a fishing trip with KeyDreams on this beautiful Day on the Chesapeake Bay. We got a nice 21 inch Flounder for the box, then we messed around with those Crazy Spadefish. They caught their limit of Spadefish for the cooler and soon to be frying pan. We also caught a few Sharks, and Oyster Toads that were released. It was a Fun and Beautiful day on the Chesapeake Bay today.
  11. We had a family join us today to get the Kids out fishing. It was a Beautiful Day with SW winds but just enough to keep it from getting hot out there on the bay. We fished for Flounder for a little bit but the ground fish bite was off. We messed around with the Spadefish for a while putting some in the Box then hunted around again for some Flounder. The ground bite was still off, maybe the big swells from the recently passing by Offshore Hurricanes Chris and Beryl had something to do with it, anyway we went back to messing with those Crazy fighting Spadefish and finished up having caught our Boat limit. Lots of Fun with a Fun Family.
  12. After a brief Northeast Blow shutting us down for a couple days and Hurricane Chris passing by offshore gave us some swells but nothing to keep us from getting out there for some more fishing. Today we had a regular return from New Jersey again to fishing with us. Last year she got her Cobia and Flounder she wanted, and this year we put them on their Boat Limit of Spadefish and she also got her a 41 inch Cobia this year. It was Beautiful Day on the Chesapeake Bay and a Fun Time with Good People.
  13. We had a Family Fun Fishing trip today with Mom and Dad getting the Boys out fishing with KeyDreams on this Beautiful Day on the Chesapeake Bay. We spent most of the morning working on the Spadefish, the bite was good but the day started off a little bumpy this morning making it a little more difficult getting them hooked up. We still managed to get our Boat Limit of 24 for the cooler and soon to be fillets at the Fish Cleaning Station. We finished up looking for Flounder but didn’t find any keepers today and were back to the dock around Noon. We also caught Skate and Oyster Toads. It was a Fun and Beautiful day on the Chesapeake Bay with this Family having Fun Together.
  14. We had a ½ day Family Fun Fishing trip this morning were Mom and Dad got their Daughter out to do some fishing with KeyDreams on this beautiful morning on the Chesapeake Bay after the weekend blow. The Spadefish were being tricky today with more than usual escaping the clutches of the hook. We did manage 6 Spadefish for the cooler who didn’t escape their fate with the dinner table. The Flounder bight was slow today, and we didn’t get any keepers, we also caught Shark, Skates, and Oyster Toads. It was a Fun and Beautiful day on the Chesapeake Bay today with this Fun Family.
  15. We had a group of friends who work together get with us today on KeyDreams for a day of Spadefish and Flounder fishing. It was a beautiful day with light South West winds. We caught our Boat limit of 28 Spadefish and 6 Flounder with 4 keepers up to 20 inches today. These guys seemed to just love getting out on the water and enjoying a day off and having a good time together. They had plenty of fresh fillets to share. We still caught the other stuff like Skates, Oyster toads, Seabass, and Croaker. We were back in port and I had about half the fish cleaned before the Big Storm hit the area with strong winds, heavy rain, thunder and lightning, so I ended up getting soaked as I finished up cleaning all the fish. It was kind a like a Lt. Dan (Forest Gump) moment. Lots of Fun.
  16. We had our Hard Core Fishing Couple on board again today for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. This young lady and her husband love to go fishing every year with us for their anniversary. A beautiful morning with calm seas with an unlikely chance of rain unfortunately turned into running around to avoid a Thunderstorm and then another shower, so we went in a little earlier than usual. We got to see a Beautiful Double Rainbow (second rainbow is a little hard to see it in the picture). We still had a fun time and made good with the time we had catching some Spadefish and a Red Drum at 29 inches today. We also caught a Shark, Skates, Oyster Toads, Seabass and Croaker, It was another fun day with these guys as usual and a beautiful day on the Chesapeake Bay.
  17. We had a Family Fun Fishing Trip today were 3 generations got out fishing with us on KeyDreams for this beautiful morning on the Chesapeake Bay. We fished for Flounder for a little while then switched over to the Spadefish for some of that Crazy Rod Bending Fight you can count on when a Spadefish hooks up. We caught our Boat Limit of Spadefish and went back to Flounder Fishing. We did managed to get 7 Flounder with 4 keeper Flounder up to 19 inches in the box with all those Spadefish. Somehow during this trip one of the guys inherited the nick name “Big Baby” after enjoying the roller coaster ride feeling of the boat going up and down from a ships wake, it wasn’t the youngest one on board either. The Youngest one on board is a Junior Angler. We also caught the other variety of fish like Oyster Toads, Skates, Sea bass, and Croaker. It was a Fun and Beautiful day on the Chesapeake Bay today.
  18. We had a Mom Get her Son out for a Fun Family Fishing Trip and to celebrate his recent promotion in the Marines. We fished for Flounder for a short period of time and ended putting a nice 18 incher in the box with the Spadefish. We also caught the normal other stuff like little Seabass, Oyster Toads, Skates and such. Lots of Fun.
  19. We had some regulars join us again this summer. This group of friends and family enjoyed a beautiful day on the Chesapeake Bay with light winds and calm seas. The Spadefish ended up taking center stage today catching their limit and keeping the rods bent with those Crazy Fish. When we were done with the Spadefish we went back to Flounder fishing and ended up catching 6 Flounder, 3 keepers up to 19 inches. We also caught the normal other stuff like a Shark, Skates, Croaker, Roundhead, little Seabass, Oyster Toads and such. Lots of Fun with old friends.
  20. We had a Dad get his Daughter out fishing with us this morning. It was a beautiful day with SW winds but still a bit bumpy from the East blow the previous 2 days. We ended up catching 6 Flounder up to 19 inches. We started with the Spadefish catching the boat limit and keeping the rods bent with those Crazy Fish. At the end of the day it was clear that the Daughter out fished her dad putting the majority of the fish in the box. We saw one Cobia today and got the eel on him twice but he wasn’t interested. We also caught the normal other stuff like Croaker, Roundhead, Grey Trout, little Seabass, Oyster Toads and such. Lots of Fun.
  21. While a couple was visiting Virginia Beach on vacation this lucky man’s wife surprised him with a Birthday Fishing Trip on KeyDreams this morning. It was a beautiful day. We caught 5 Flounder and 2 Cobia today. All fish were released today. It was another fun day on the Chesapeake Bay.
  22. We got a family trip in this afternoon for these guys and it was a beautiful day. The Flounder bight is still a bit slow, caught 7 and managed to get 2 nice keepers up to 22 inches. We caught a Cobia today but it was under the 40 min size limit and released. Hooked up several Sharks today and we also caught a variety of the other stuff as well like Grey Triggerfish, Skates, Oyster Toads, Seabass, Trout, Roundhead and lots of Croaker. It was a fun day. Another beautiful day on the Chesapeake Bay.
  23. We had our Hard Core Fishing Couple on board again today for her Birthday Fishing trip. They have been married for 49 soon to be 50 years and love to fish together. We also caught lot of Skates and Oyster Toads, little Black Seabass and Croaker. It was another fun day with these guys as usual, and a beautiful day on the Chesapeake Bay.
  24. When the wind blew it blew hard in all directions with short interludes of calm seas. Near the end of May the weather started to get more stable like it’s trying to get into a summer pattern, then Tropical Strom Alberto hits Florida and gives us tons of rain for the tail end of May. The Tog season was extended to May 15th giving us two more weeks to catch them up. The Croaker started bighting good around the middle of May. Flounder bight was tough but a few nice fish were caught, our largest for May was 18 inches. The Flounder bite picked up real good June 1st last year and got better as the water warmed up. Red Drum have been cruising into the Bay coming up the coast real good the last couple of weeks along with the Cobia. Cobia season opens June 1st this year. Here is a picture of a Citation Red Drum we caught. Overall we had Lots of fun with Great People.
  25. We had a Father with his sons on vacation get together with us this morning to go on the hunt for some Flounder and Big Red Drum. We had some tough weather with high seas up to 5 foot lately so we had canceled our trips since the last report, finally we had a beautiful morning with south winds and the seas laid down. The water was still sandy and the Flounder bite was really tough today, we didn’t catch any keepers, but the Big Red Drum, Ray, Shark and Sea bass gave us the most action today. We ended up catching some Big Bull Red Drum today measuring 33 and 41 inches that weren’t big enough for the Big Fish Virginia Citation Award ( 46 inches for Red Drum ). The 41 incher is bigger than it looks because the big guy holding it is 6’5”. The Big Reds were released and swam off strong to fight another day. We were back to the dock around noon and beat the Afternoon Storm. Lots of fun.
